# Review and transfer a Bitcoin PSBT

A Partially Signed Bitcoin Transaction carries a proposed transaction plus information needed to inspect and sign it. A file opening successfully does not establish that the account, change, fee or signatures are correct.

[Watch the overview: Mix wallet applications](/watch#btc-overview-mix-apps).

## Before you start

Use the intended account and script type. Preserve the original unsigned file. Keep receive/change branches, public-key origins and required previous transactions together. The [offline-signing guide](/docs/guides/bitcoin/offline-signing) explains the two-computer handoff; [multisig](/docs/guides/bitcoin/multisig) has additional policy requirements.

## Match public wallet metadata

[Watch this step](/watch#btc-match-public-wallet-metadata).

1. Begin with the intended KeepKey wallet unlocked. In Desktop, open Bitcoin and choose Watch-only export.
2. Save the Desktop public wallet file. It carries the network, address type, public key and receive and change branches together.
3. In Sparrow, open the wallet Settings and inspect its script type, master fingerprint, derivation and public key.
4. A bare public key can lose its origin information. Keep an unknown fingerprint marked unknown; do not invent one.
5. Finally compare the same receiving-address index in both applications, then verify the full address on KeepKey.

## Transfer a complete PSBT

[Watch this step](/watch#btc-transfer-complete-psbt).

1. In Sparrow, build the intended payment and inspect its inputs, outputs and fee.
2. A PSBT carries more than the payment itself. The signer may also need previous transactions, public keys and derivation paths.
3. Move the file to the disconnected computer and drop it on Desktop with the intended KeepKey unlocked.
4. Full previous transactions let Desktop check their hashes and input values. Missing data can prevent signing or leave a fee unverified.
5. After a complete import, compare all outputs, change and fee with your intention before device approval.

## Inspect the signed result

[Watch this step](/watch#btc-inspect-signed-result).

1. Keep the original unsigned PSBT and the saved signed result. Return the signed file to the online computer.
2. In Desktop, drop the signed PSBT on the window. A complete signed result opens Broadcast Bitcoin transaction for review.
3. Compare every output address and amount with the original payment, including change. Check the fee and transaction identifier.
4. If the fee is unknown, restore the required previous-transaction information or verify it through the selected backend.
5. Check the displayed broadcast route, then choose Broadcast only when the review matches your intention.

## Verify the result

Inspect every recipient and change output, input value, fee and displayed broadcast route. Compare the signing result with the original transaction. A complete signed file can be reviewed for broadcast; an unknown fee must be resolved before approval rather than treated as zero.

## If something fails

If an application cannot supply the previous transactions or origins the signer requires, return to the coordinator and export a complete PSBT. Do not change signed fields while collecting signatures. See [Bitcoin troubleshooting](/docs/guides/bitcoin/troubleshooting) for incomplete files and account mismatches.
