# Dropship settlements and credit

<StepVideo id="aff-13-dropship-settlement" />

Each accepted live order creates a settlement obligation. Keep three records separate: the opening account deposit, each order's settlement and any [affiliate commission payout](/docs/affiliates/payouts). Paying one does not establish that another is complete.

## Read this order's invoice

Save the settlement returned by order creation and returned on later lookup. Check:

- `amountDue` and `currency`: the fiat-denominated fulfillment obligation.
- `chain`, `chainAmount`, `chainCurrency` and `depositAddress`: the actual payment route, quoted asset amount and destination.
- `dueAt`: this order's deadline.
- `status`: whether the settlement remains unpaid or payment has been recognized.

The current implementation sets the due date **30 days from the order date**. Read the actual `dueAt` value rather than assigning one shared deadline to all orders.

For the BTC flow shown in the portal, use the Bitcoin amount and address returned for that exact order. Do not reuse the opening-deposit address or a destination from another order. Tutorial payment values are non-payable examples.

## Reconcile payment and capacity

Live orders reduce available fulfillment credit. Recognized settlements restore capacity. The starting credit line is currently \$500; read the actual account and request result before accepting additional orders.

1. Match the storefront order, KeepKey order ID and settlement.
2. Read the current amount, network, destination, due date and status.
3. Review the complete destination and amount in your wallet before sending. Allow for the wallet's transaction fee separately.
4. Retain the payment reference and wait for the system to recognize the settlement.
5. Confirm the order's settlement state and available credit before treating the obligation as cleared.

A transaction sent from a wallet is not proof that the service has reconciled it. If a sent payment remains unrecognized, compare the invoice and transaction privately with [support](/docs/support) before paying again.

## Refusals and overdue accounts

An order above the available balance can return `insufficient_credit`. An account with an overdue settlement can become suspended and refuse new live orders with `account_suspended`. Inspect the settlement records and account state instead of resending new order IDs.

A permanent fulfillment rejection unwinds the rejected order's credit. Reconcile the returned failure and recorded settlement state; a prior response or a balance alone does not establish successful shipment.

The current real-SKU catalog price is \$49 USD per unit. Recheck the [catalog](/docs/dropshipping/api#read-the-catalog) and actual settlement for every order. This fulfillment price is not a promise about your retail margin, taxes, fees or other storefront costs.
